BRASILIA – France have beaten Brazil by 3-2 victory in the final of the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World League.
With the attendance of over 23,000 fans gathered in Joaquim Americo Guimaraes Sports Center, French squad showed to be more focused on the game, and coached by Earvin Ngapeth they managed to win the victory.
France, champions for ninth time and current Olympic champions, owned the first set 25-21, but in contrast were beaten 15-25 in the second set.
The European squad won the third set by 25-23 and Brazil balanced the scores in the fourth to win 25-15. In tie break they proved to be Europe’s champions and won the fifth with 15-13.
In the match for bronze medals, the U.S. was dropped in four sets by Canada. The Canadian side took the match 18-25, 25-20,25-22 and 25-21.
