SANTIAGO – Chile prepares a great business mission to Guatemala, oriented to make direct investments and joint production processes, revealed the Direction of International Economic Relations (Direcon).
During a seminar ‘Chile-Guatemala: Opportunities of Direct Investments and Reciprocal Trade’ carried out in the Chilean capital, the steps to follow by Chilean businesspeople were identified along those lines.
The meeting was organized by the Direcon and the Embassy of Guatemala under the umbrella of the National Chamber of Trade, Services and Tourism (CNC).
Mario Benavente, chief of Investment of the Direcon, highlighted the seminar is the prelude of a business mission to Guatemala, oriented to invest and productive processes ‘which allow to strengthen the trade balances of both countries’.
Among the areas with greater perspectives for investors, are the sectors of agribusiness, construction and infrastructure, renewable energy sources, industry, mining, tourism services and free zones, he indicated.
They also discussed the perspectives presented by Guatemala to promote bilateral trade with Chile, develop productive integration and global chains of value.
Benavente stressed that since a couple of years ago, the Direcon boosts an intense activity both with Guatemala and Central America in general.
