SANTIAGO – Chilean cable operator VTR, part of Liberty Global’s Latin American and Caribbean group (LiLAC), has started selling Samsung’s new Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones at its stores throughout the country and online.
The operator is offering new customers who port their number to VTR a discount of up to 40 percent on the price of the Android-powered handset if they sign up to a multimedia plan. The packages range from CLP 12,990 to CLP 49,990 a month.
Samsung Electronics recently reported that global sales of the Galaxy S8 reached 5 million units in less than a month after the device was officially launched.
