Chile expresses its condolences for the death of Carlos Menem

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrés Allamand, expressed the Government of Chile’s condolences to Argentina’s people death of former President Carlos Saúl Menem that occurred in Buenos Aires. Manifestations of sorrow and solidarity that he extends to his family.

“Given the sad news of the death of the former president Chile expresses to the Argentine Nation and to his distinguished family, its condolences and deep feelings of regret,” said the Foreign Minister.
Carlos Saúl Menem ruled Argentina consecutively between 1989 and 1999, a decade in which he strongly promoted bilateral relations with Chile.

“President Menem was a distinguished public man who contributed to bringing Chile and Argentina closer together. His management made it possible to resolve pending issues and lay the foundations for multiple projects. Above all, to continue forging a deep friendship between Argentines and Chileans, “the Minister stressed.
