SANTIAGO – An earthquake of medium intensity was registered in the central zone of Chile on Thursday.
As reported by Onemi, the earthquake was perceived between the Coquimbo and O’Higgins regions.
According to the National Seismological Center of the University of Chile, the earthquake was registered at 7:55 AM and had a magnitude of 5.2.
The epicenter was located 90 km southwest of Illapel.
SHOA indicated that it does not meet the necessary conditions to generate a tsunami off the coast of Chile.
