SANTIAGO – For the fourth time Chile has been declared the Best Destination for Adventure Tourism in South America, according to the 25th World Travel Awards.
Chile retains the top position since 2015.
In addition, Valparaíso won the category of leading cruise port in South America in 2018. The same award that took the Atacama Desert as the most romantic destination in South America.
Chile postulated in 19 categories and another prize that went to the country was obtained by the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Santiago, elected the leading business hotel on this side of the world.
The ceremony was held in Guayaquil, Ecuador, a country that dominated with 25 awards, including the designation of its capital, Quito, as “Destination of South America” and as a cultural city. The regional winners will go on to the great final of 2018, which will take place in Lisbon (Portugal) next December 1st.
The World Travel Awards were established in 1993 to recognize, reward and celebrate excellence in all sectors of the tourism industry.–MercoPress
