HANOI – Chile’s President Michelle Bachelet Jeria will pay a state visit to Vietnam from November 8 to 9, according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The visit will be made at the invitation of Vietnam President Trần Đại Quang.
Bachelet will attend the regional summit of a Pacific Rim trade pact, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, in the Southeast Asian country
The APEC summit of Asia Economic Cooperation forum will be held in Danang, Vietnam next week.
The TPP is meant to dismantle tariffs and other trade barriers while protecting labor, environment and intellectual property standards.
It includes Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam.
