BUENOS AIRES – Argentines will face another increase in fares in public transport in 2018 with a price increase for train and bus tickets, according to new executive measures.
Página 12 newspaper reported the government – which is making a strong economic adjustment since 2016 – evaluates a staggered increase of 50 cents per month during the next year that would raise the bus ticket from 6.50 pesos ($0.37 USD) to 12.50 pesos ($0.70 USD).
The public transport passages have already undergone several changes, among them that of the popular subway of Buenos Aires and taxis.
On October 13, the ticket increased by 20 percent more on national routes in long-distance minibuses connecting the provinces of the Northeast and the Litoral with Buenos Aires, a rise reaching 33 percent this year.
