VIDEO: Chile builds South America’s first solar thermal power plant in Atacama Desert

SANTIAGO – Chile is building South America’s first solar thermal power plant in its Atacama Desert – world’s best place to produce solar energy, with the most potent sun power on the planet.

This development will prove to be a turning point in the history of human electricity-making, as the price of solar energy has fallen so much in Chile that it is increasingly beating out conventional sources of power.
