Chinese president’s special envoy to attend Piñera’s inauguration

BEIJING – Ma Peihua, the special envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping and also vice chairman of the 12th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, will attend the presidential inauguration ceremony in Chile from March 10 to 11.

Ma will be visiting the South American country on the invitation of Chilean President Michelle Bachelet, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang announced Friday.

Maduro to skip Piñera’s inauguration

Sebastián Piñera, right-wing candidate and former president, was elected president of Chile for a second time last December.
