Chilean chancellor invites Ivanka Trump to APEC 2019 summit

NEW YORK – In the framework of his participation in the 73rd General Assembly of the United Nations that takes place in New York, Chile’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Roberto Ampuero met with Ivanka Trump.

During the meeting, they talked about matters related to women and entrepreneurship.

In this context, the Chancellor invited the U.S. President’s daughter to participate in the APEC 2019 meeting, to be held in Chile, which will have as one of its axes the theme “Women and Economic Growth”, which seeks to increase the participation of women in the economy and in international trade as a source of economic growth and reduction of gender gaps.

It is expected that about 20,000 delegates from 21 APEC members will participate in more than 200 meetings in 2019, according to the Chilean foreign ministry.

Chile hosted an APEC meeting in 2004.
