Iran beat Uzbekistan to classify for 2018 World Soccer Cup in Russia

TEHRAN – Iran beat Uzbekistan 2-0 and became the 3rd national team with a ticket to participate in the 2018 World Soccer Cup in Russia.

The world’s soccer tournament will be celebrated in Russia, from June 14 to July 15, 2018.

Goals by Sardar Azmoun in the 23rd minute and another by Medhi Taremi in the 88th, gave Iran its classification as the leader of Poll A in Asia.

The Persian team commands with 20 points, accompanied by South Korea, with 7 points.

With this result, Iran joins Russia -the host- and Brazil, leader of the South American classification, as the first countries with a participation ticket to the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Japan and Saudi Arabia are equaled in the top of Pool B, with 16 points, but Japan has a better average of scored and received goals than Saudi Arabia.
