Sebastian Piñera made his first connection with the U.S. this week, as the official, future leader of Chile. Tuesday afternoon, the President-elect was conversing in his home with Minister of Interior Edmundo Perez Yoma when he was obliged to leave to answer a phone call. On the other side of the line was U.S. President Barack Obama calling to congratulate him on his recent “historic electoral victory.”
