Retiring President adds another role which will define her post-presidential period

The United Nations Development Fund for Women, UNIFEM, has appointed Chilean President Michelle Bachelet as spokesperson for the agency’s work in Haiti, the Chilean presidential envoy to Haiti, Juan Gabriel Valdes, announced over the weekend.

Later this month, President Bachelet plans to visit the Caribbean country, still struggling to cope with the aftermath of a deadly 7.0-magnitude earthquake which struck the capital city Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas January 12.
