Winter Olympics 2018: Ice Dancer Gabriella Papadakis suffers serious wardrobe malfunction

PYEONGCHANG – French ice dancers Guillaume Cizeron and Gabriella Papadakis held things together through a wardrobe malfunction and finished second in the short program at Olympic Winter Games 2018 in South Korea .

Ahead of Tuesday’s free dance final in Pyeongchang earlier, the 22-year-old competed with partner Guillaume Cizeron to Ed Sheeran’s hit song ‘Shape of You.’

Papadakis’ costume came unhooked at the neck seconds into the music.

The French figure skater described this unfortunate wardrobe malfunction as her ‘worst nightmare at the Olympics’ last week.

The pair had just started her routine when her dress came undone. It was pretty obvious that Papadakis’ breast was exposed on live television, but that didn’t stop them from producing an incredible 81.93 point performance.

Unfortunately, part of the figure skating scoring system is judged on costume and the aesthetics of the performance, meaning that the French pair were penalized for the wardrobe malfunction.

Otherwise their score of 81.93 points could easily have surpassed the leaders’ total of 83.67, posted by Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir of Canada.
